Don't Leave Clothes in the Washer/Dryer It's most of the time acceptable for people to leave their clothes washing/drying while they leave the laundromat for a short period of time. Please choose your outing carefully. Set a timer to ensure no time is wasted or you don't forget altogether.

If you leave your clothes in a washer or dryer past the cycle time, you could be holding up someone else's load. If you leave your clothes in for a few minutes past the cycle time, there's a good chance that you'll find your wet clothes tossed on top of the machine – or even on the floor or in the trash can.

We recommend mesh bags for breathability, but any large bag will do if you don't want prying eyes catching a glimpse of your dirty clothing. Before you start throwing clothes into your bag willy-nilly, it's a good idea to sort your clothes beforehand and keep them separate by using two washing bags.

If not, they are typically given away or thrown away, depending on the mood of the attendant. Depends on the laundromat. Most 'mats will post their policies. It's common to say that they'll hold the clothes in a lost-n-found for a day or two, but are not responsible past that point.
