Don't Leave Your Laundry Items Unattended Monitor the washers and dryers while using them. Walking away to use the bathroom is fine, but leaving the laundromat without anyone to watch your items is not recommended. Wait until your clothes are dry to take them back with you.

If you leave your clothes in a washer or dryer past the cycle time, you could be holding up someone else's load. If you leave your clothes in for a few minutes past the cycle time, there's a good chance that you'll find your wet clothes tossed on top of the machine – or even on the floor or in the trash can.

We recommend mesh bags for breathability, but any large bag will do if you don't want prying eyes catching a glimpse of your dirty clothing. Before you start throwing clothes into your bag willy-nilly, it's a good idea to sort your clothes beforehand and keep them separate by using two washing bags.

Laundromats typically sell detergent, dryer sheets, and fabric softener, but the prices are much higher than they normally are at a grocery or corner store. To save money, bring laundry detergent and any fabric softener with you to avoid needing to buy them at the store.
